Kambi has published a prop market in which customers can place wagers on John Oliver making an appearance at WrestleMania 35.
For those of you who might be unaware, John Oliver is an English-born comedian who has a polticial/current affairs show on HBO in the US.
Late last year, Oliver dedicated part of his show - Last Week Tonight - to criticising WWE's decision to continue working the Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia.
Oliver went one further on Sunday night when he shone a light on WWE's business practices. Mainly being how the wrestlers aren't contracted as employees, but rather independent contractors.
To cut a long story short, the piece was highly negative towards WWE. The company issued a statement the following day claiming that it sent Oliver's producers point-by-point responses to what was to air on the show, but these were allegedly ignored. The statement closed with 'We invite John Oliver to attend WrestleMania this Sunday to learn more about our company.'
With the invite out there, the bookies have the prop at 17/20 pick 'em.
I highly doubt Oliver will attend the event.
It would be hypocritical if he were to do so after the stance he has made against the company on his platform.
Stranger things have happened, though!
Oliver is the only name in the Appearance market with the ability to bet on 'No'. There are other selections in which customers can punt on the 'Yes'. They are:
CM Punk 33/1
Conor McGregor EVS
Daniel Cormier 13/10
Donald Trump 66/1
Rob Gronkowski 11/10
The Rock 2/1
The Undertaker 1/16
Zlatan Ibrahimovic 9/2
