How Sky Bet's NXT TakeOver: New York Markets Closed

Sky Bet's NXT TakeOver: New York markets were closed at 11PM BST this evening.

Here are the early and closing prices for all of the matches that are scheduled for tonight's event.

Starting with the NXT Tag Team Championship market, you'll see that it was one way traffic with customers backing the titleholders - War Raiders - retaining their straps.

The champs were 4/9 favourites when I came across the market at 11:45AM on March 27th. They were moved to 2/7 by yesterday morning and stayed there right up to 11PM BST this evening.

Their challengers - Aleister Black and Ricochet - went from 13/8 into 5/2 in this period.

NXT Women's Champion, Shayna Baszler, was 10/11 when the market for her title defence in a fatal four-way. She closed as a 2/1 second-favourite.

Bianca Belair, who was a 6/5 second-fave on March 24th, ended up back at 6/5 but did close as the favourite.

Io Shirai had the steepest drop. She went from 12/1 all the way down to 3/1.

The NXT North American Championship market closed with the titleholder - Velveteen Dream - and his challenger, Matt Riddle as 5/6 pick 'ems. Back on March 24th, Dream was the bookies' favourite as he was 2/5 to Riddle's 7/4.

As you can see in the table below, the punters evidently sided with Riddle to get the win over Dream.

A match that I've been eagerly anticipating for this show is the one that'll see Pete Dunne defend the NXT UK Championship against Walter.

The challenger had started off at 10/11, which was a surprise to me as I felt he would open similar to how Velveteen Dream did in North American Championship market.

The punters evidently sided with the German as he was down to 1/7 by yesterday morning - a price he remained at right up to tonight's closure.

Dunne was a 4/1 underdog when the market was taken down.

Finally, the best-out-of-three falls match market opened with Adam Cole a 1/2 favourite to claim the vacant NXT Championship. It appears as though there was a back-and-forth in the betting as both selections shortened at certain points over the days I took note of the changes. In the end, despite Cole closing as the favourite, Gargano's price was shorter than when I first found it.
