Sky Bet's oddsmakers have added more match markets to their coverage of WWE SummerSlam 2019.
Kevin Owens .vs. Shane McMahon is one of the newest additions to the card and it comes with a stipulation that - should Owens lose - he'll have to quit WWE.
Owens has been installed as a 1/4 favourite. A win in favour of his opponent will pay out at odds of 11/4.
Bray Wyatt, who I expect will wrestle under 'The Fiend' alter-ego, is 1/10 to beat Finn Balor (11/2).
The other new bout added to the August card will see Kofi Kingston defend the WWE Championship against Randy Orton.
Kingston is an 8/13 fave while his challenger is 6/5.
Prices were correct as of 6:30PM BST.
After watching that segment of Kofi and Orton, there is no way Kofi is not getting his revenge on Orton after what Orton did to him 10 years ago
ReplyDeleteMy guess is Kofi retains at Summerslam, gets his big victory and solidifies his title run.And then Orton wins it at clash of champions.
I don't like Orton's chances of leaving this feud with the title.
DeleteI mean there has to be a heel champion who should lose to either Roman or Owens since those two are top babyfaces on Smackdown
DeleteOrton also is a perfect star to be champion when Smackdown moves to fox
They don't need two heel champs.
DeleteDon't forget the booking trend of title challengers that was brought up this time last year about how - if they don't win the first match in the program - they rarely come out with it.
DeleteBut they need a heel champion for top babyfaces Roman or Owens
DeleteIf Orton loses then who will beat Kofi? Roman is the only option left but both are babyfaces
The Owens or Reigns title chases are months away.
DeleteWas it you who last year was going on about not enough heels for the babyfaces and then months later we had Daniel Bryan as heel champ? The next heel champ could come where you least expect it!
Why is it that people overthink wrestling and can’t just wait to see the full build up of a feud Before predicting what’s going to happen?
DeleteI don't think I said about not having enough heels for babyface champions on Smackdown because if AJ hadn't lost the title to Bryan, he would have still had heel contenders like Miz for next two months and Orton at Wrestlemania.
DeleteBut if you look at the current Smackdkwn roster, there aren't enough heels for Kofi. Drew can be a option even though he's technically a Raw guy but I expect Drew to face Taker at Wrestlemania
Derick,
DeleteThis probably isn't the blog for you because that's what betting on wrestling is all about.
There’s is no guarantee that Kingston is going over at summerslam and even clean at that. Either way I’m expecting orton to leave this feud with the title as the fox deal is around the corner and orton vs reigns for the title seems inevitable
DeleteNice bit of overthinking for someone who was against it four minutes ago!
DeleteDavid,
DeleteI understand what u are saying but the feud literally Just started and there’s 2 weeks left of build. U guys are making the Basis of your predictions off 1 shoot segment that was done between the 2.
Let's forget the promo for a moment.
DeleteThe babyface chose his challenger. If he does not win the match, he will look weak.
Add in the promo, he looks weaker.
And again there’s 2 weeks left of build up for this match before the ppv. And what exactly happened after he challenged orton and the promo was said and done? Oh that’s right he dropped him with his finisher and left him laying looking strong. Also u honestly think Kingston is long term or wwe would really care if he ends up looking weak in the process of this feud? He already got his moment at mania. Not to mention nobody said he has to lose clean.
DeleteDid my comment publish? I want to know your response to my comments
DeleteAnd again, you're doing something you were critical of when you first commented this morning.
DeleteI am against it. I’m only doing it because u guys are and to justify my points. I’m not guaranteeing anything and am not always right but I think I been watching this show long enough and I’m giving my reasons for my perspective.
DeleteThat's fair enough, but what you also have to consider is we've been watching enough to have our opinions.
DeleteAnd I respect that. But I have given u detailed logical reasoning. Also lemme throw this out there as well but u do know there is a thing as a swerve right? I know this show is predictable and a child can honestly predict most of the outcomes but this whole full circle thing and getting revenge seems far too obvious of a story to tell in the midst of Kingston already having a fairly lengthy run than what most initially expected . And it would give orton a lot of heel heat that he honestly needs at this point to put over another face that wwe will actually invest long term in. Kingston’s title reign has run it’s course and whether he were to win the title back or not, there’s more of a story to tell with him chasing someone that he cannot overcome and could even give him a character tweak. The possibilities are endless. But In regards to the match at summerslam like I said I’m waiting until the go home show to determine my prediction. And I just can’t help but feel if Kingston is retaining it won’t be clean
DeleteWe're going to have to agree to disagree on this one and see how the match goes.
DeleteI agree we’ll see what happens. I just get a little annoyed when I see people guaranteeing a result of something. Especially something like this which is honestly much Harder to call than the universal title Match. WWE is predictable but there are lots of times where I’ve seen fans feel they are so confident in what will happen and then wwe does the opposite. Even has happened to me on multiple occasions which is why I stopped guaranteeing results to people
DeleteNo one has guaranteed anything.
DeleteIf so there has been a misunderstanding then. But nonetheless at least u have seen my reasonings and perspective. This is definitely the most intriguing match going into summerslam.
DeleteThere 100% is a misunderstanding and you've also seen our reasoning.
DeleteYes I’ve seen your reasonings but I feel I’ve counter argued them
DeleteYep, you sure have.
DeleteDerick that one shoot segment told the whole story of this feud. Kofi needs revenge now for what Orton did to him 10 years ago
ReplyDeleteEven though I expect Kofi to retain at Summerslam,I still think Orton might eventually win the title
Also Derick, discussing about predictions isn't a bad thing
“Needs his revenge”. If u want to go technical he already got that in the gauntlet match which got him the mania match in the 1st place. U want to make a bet with me that if Kingston ends up looking strong in the remainder of this build up to summerslam he isn’t retaining? And even if the plan is for him to retain, seeing how they are advertised to be fighting at hell in a cell which is all the way in October, I feel they will do a finish at summerslam that keeps orton looking strong and gives a reason for another title match that he will win. But honestly I don’t see the point of that. Summerslam is a big show in Canada and seeing how I’m pretty sure lesnar is retaining, why not just do the big title change with Kingston there?
DeleteThis is kinda important because it could get me in trouble - please don't ask to bet with people on here.
DeleteMy apologies David I did not know
DeleteDerick - That victory in Gauntlet match was hardly a revenge because Orton dominated 98% of the match and Kofi won with a roll up
DeleteA clean victory with trouble in paradise in a world title match in the 2nd biggest PPV in front of a hot crowd. Now that's something called as revenge or payback
Also Derick - I'm with you on Orton eventually taking the title away from Kofi but I just don't think it will happen at Summerslam
DeleteThe feud is continuing after summerslam into at least October at hell in cell According to reports. Easiest way to do that is either a title change or a screwy finish keeping both men looking strong to logically warrant another match. Just saying. And like I told David I’m waiting until the go home show to get a better idea of what more they do or say in the build to make a stronger prediction.
DeleteReigns isn't going to do this ppv I don't think. If it's in Toronto they will boo him probably.
ReplyDeleteIt's the third biggest PPV of the year.
DeleteThey generally say Summerslam is the 2nd biggest PPV.
DeleteI guess Royal Rumble is now the 2nd biggest PPV
Had this argument/debate before.
DeleteIn the battle of PPV buyrates, Rumble won more than SummerSlam. Especially during the peak years.
Hey David, Meltzer said Ziggler has a match at Summerslam but it's not against HBK or Miz
ReplyDeleteWho do you think will his opponent be?
Goldberg?
DeleteI thought HBK. Haven't had time to read all of the Observer of listen to today's show yet.
Goldberg kinda makes sense since he insulted Goldberg twice in 2 weeks
DeleteI'm sure there's a reason why he has been bringing him up.
DeleteRoman Reigns and Samoa Joe vs The Revival at Summerslam?
ReplyDeleteI guess we'll find out tonight...
DeleteI actually like the idea!
