Taichi (2-0) .vs. Yujiro Takahashi (0-2)
A market for the tournament opener of night five was released a couple of days ago. Taichi was a 2/13 favourite. His opponent was 7/2. The market remained stationary right up to this morning.
Match Winner: Taichi
Jeff Cobb (1-1) .vs. Minoru Suzuki (1-1)
Just like with the above market, Kambi first put up prices for Jeff Cobb .vs. Minoru Suzuki on Friday and the selections were still at their earliest odds when I visited the website this morning. Cobb was a slight 3/4 fave over the 19/20 for Suzuki.
Match Winner: Minoru Suzuki
Kota Ibushi (1-1) .vs. Tomohiro Ishii (0-2)
Yet another market that was published on Friday and was still showing the earliest prices when I last viewed them was the one for Kota Ibushi versus Tomohiro Ishii. The latter was a 9/4 underdog while Ibushi was 2/7.
Match Winner: Kota Ibushi
Will Ospreay (2-0) .vs. Shingo Takagi (0-2)
The market for Will Ospreay versus Shingo Takagi was first published a fortnight ago with Ospreay at 3/5 and his opponent at 6/5.
A week later, I noticed that Ospreay's price had dropped into 13/25 while Takagi had moved up slightly to 13/10. Then, on Friday of this week, Takagi had dipped into 11/20 while Ospreay rose up to 13/20. Takagi was then down into 9/10 yesterday morning with his opponent at 4/5. When I checked in this morning, I noticed both had reversed with Takagi the 4/5 favourite.
The Kazuchika Okada .vs. Jay White market was first published a couple of weeks ago with both men at 17/20.
By September 20th, Okada had dipped into 4/5 while White was moved up to 9/10. However, after that, it was White who descended as he had fallen into 7/10 by Friday afternoon and was down to 8/13 when I visited the website this morning.
As you can see, with White's odds dropping in the latter stages of betting, Okada rose from the 4/5 of a week ago to EVS and then was at 23/20 today.
Match Winner: Jay White
