Observer Star Rating Betting Results For Nights 1-4 Of The G1 Climax 30

Dave Meltzer's reviews of the first four nights of this year's G1 Climax were published in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter which was published yesterday.

With the reviews released, Kambi will settle a number of Observer markets that were installed for those nights.

For nights one and two, the oddsmakers created some head-to-specials. 

The first saw Kazuchika Okada versus Kota Ibushi up against 'Any Other Match' from the two nights in a battle to receive the most stars in Meltzer's reviews of the events.

Okada versus Ibushi had four-and-a-quarter stars, but it was beaten by Tetsuya Naito versus Hiroshi Tanahashi the following night. It received four-and-three-quarters from the Observer's editor and is the match with the most stars as of the time of writing.

As you can see below, the selection for Okada .vs Ibushi was a 4/6 favourite initially. Its price was reduced into 13/25 while the eventual winner started off at 37/20 before being raised to 9/4.

The second head-to-head saw two A Block matches going up against one another in Tomohiro Ishii .vs. Minoru Suzuki and Shingo Takagi .vs. Jay White. 

Going by the betting, Ishii versus Suzuki was favoured as it kicked off at 9/10. It was reduced into 4/5 within the first day of wagering.

The fave did indeed go on to be the winning selection because the match was given four-and-a-half stars while its opposition came half a star short of matching it.

With Tanashashi versus Naito being the best match after the first four nights, it should go without saying that it beat Hirooki Goto versus KENTA in the third head-to-head.

The winner started off as a 3/4 fave, but had been backed into 4/6 when I looked over the market the following day. 

As a result of the favourite seemingly being backed, Goto .vs. KENTA, which ended up receiving three-and-three quarter stars rose from 7/4 to 2/1 while the option to bet on both matches getting the 'Same Star Rating' was kept at 6/4.
