Having Another Punt On Sky Bet's Mania 37 Market

A suggestion that Dave Meltzer mentioned in the current issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has prompted me to have another bet on a selection I had already backed in Sky Bet's WrestleMania 37 main event markets.

Whilst writing about this year's Mania, Meltzer brought up that - based on the interest levels that the exploding barbed wire death match garnered for AEW Revolution last weekend - a speciality match featuring explosions is evidently a draw in 2021 and picked out a Mania match that could benefit from a similar concept to what AEW did - or rather tried to do - last week.

Meltzer suggested that the stipulation for Bray Wyatt versus Randy Orton should include explosions of some sort. By doing so - and if the pyrotechnics work, or even look better than the conclusion to Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley's match - WWE would not have the 'negative of outright copying' AEW but instead would have the 'aura of doing it better'.

If the Mania 37 match ends up being set the way Meltzer thinks it should be done, then I believe the best way to do it is by having the bout as the final match of night one.

As you'll see below, the selection is still available at the 10/1 it opened at earlier this month. It was one of the selections I had a small punt when the market was first published because I thought that Wyatt/Orton could end up being a cinematic feature which would be more similar to The Undertaker versus AJ Styles Boneyard match - which headlined night one of last year's Mania - than the Wyatt/Cena Firefly Fun House Match that aired the following night.

Granted, there are other matches on the list that are rightfully ahead of 'Randy Orton v Bray Wyatt'. However, if WWE does want to have the match with an explosive ending, this one has to go last on the first night.
