How Kambi Will Settle its Observer Markets For WWE WrestleMania Backlash

Dave Meltzer's review of last Sunday's WWE WrestleMania Backlash is in the current issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Now that the issue has been published, Kambi will now settle a couple of Observer star ratings markets that were published for the event.

On May 2nd, the sports betting company published two over/under markets for the show. The first market was for Bianca Belair's WWE Smackdown Women's Championship defence against Bayley and the second was for the triple threat match for the WWE Championship.

The markets were available for a short period of time with the latter closing before the May 3rd episode of WWE Monday Night Raw and the women's market was taken off the board in the hours leading up to the May 7th edition of WWE Smackdown.

Neither market was republished for the event. Nor were new Observer markets created.

In his review, Dave Meltzer gave Bianca Belair's win over Bayley three-and-a-half stars. The result was in line with Kambi's estimate as its line was set at 3.5 Stars.

WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2021 Observer Star Ratings

As you'll see, in the table above, it appears as though the consensus had sided with the eventual winner because '3.5 Stars or More' was lowered from 13/20 into 13/25 by the following day.

The losing selection, which would have covered any result below three-and-a-half stars, closed at 13/10 after opening 11/10.

The triple threat match, which saw Bobby Lashley retain the WWE Championship over Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre, received three-and-three-quarters in Meltzer's review. It too fell exactly where Kambi's line was as the winning selection was '3.75 Stars Or More'.

The winning option was EVS to the 7/10 customers were offered for the bout to get a review below 3.75 Stars.

Roman Reigns' successful WWE Universal Title defence against Cesaro was the bout of the night in Meltzer's review with four-and-a-quarter stars while the heavily-criticised lumberjack match between Damian Priest and The Miz - involving zombies as the lumberjacks - was given minus three stars.
