Allin Now Sole Favourite To Be Punk's First Official AEW Opponent

Darby Allin is now the sole favourite to be CM Punk's first 'official singles match opponent' in All Elite Wrestling.

In a post published almost a week ago, I pointed out that the oddsmakers from BetOnline had priced up a market in which customers could place wagers on who they believe Punk will first wrestle should he officially sign for AEW.

At the time, Allin was a +200 joint-favourite along with Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan).

Earlier this week, the bookmakers lowered Allin's price into +100, but kept Danielson at +200.

With Allin's price cut, four other selections have drifted out. All of those changes can be viewed in green in the table above.

The hints and teases of Punk coming in continued on this week's AEW TV. World Champion, Kenny Omega, who is one of the conspicuous absences I referred to in last week's post, wore a Cookie Monster t-shirt.

The Sesame Street character being emblazoned on Omega's shirt is a strong hint considering 'Cookie Monster' is one of the many theories, jokes and guesses as to what the 'CM' in Punk's name mean.
