G1 Climax 31 Betting: Night 3

Today sees a Tetsuya Naito-less A Block resume the G1 Climax 31 with the third overall night of the tournament.

Following the news of Naito's injury, Kambi closed all of the markets that were associated with his tournament participation. Those markets were republished yesterday. Therefore, before I begin to look at the match winner odds for today's card, I'll take care of the refreshed outright specials.

Shingo Takagi has now become a favourite to be this year's A Block Winner. As you'll be able to see below, the current IWGP World Champion was moved into 4/5 favouritism - from 8/5 - after the previous fave, was scratched.

Shingo Takagi was one of many selections which have shortened following the removal of Tetsuya Naito in 'Tournament Winner' betting. Replacing Naito as second-favourite is the aforementioned Takagi, who has dipped from 7/2 into 5/2.

Kazuchika Okada remains a favourite. However, his price has reduced from 7/4 into 8/5.

All possible finals, with Naito as one of the participants, have also been taken off the board in Kambi's market which allows punters to gamble on what they think the G1 Climax decider will be.

Before the injury news was revealed, Kambi had 'Kazuchika Okada .vs. Tetsuya Naito' as its favourite to be the main event on October 21st. It has been replaced at the top by a match with Okada taking on Shingo Takagi.

The new favourite had started out at 11/2. It fell into 13/4 after Takagi and Okada both won their opening matches of the tournament, but was moved into 43/20 when the market was refreshed yesterday with the Naito-related offerings removed.

Now that's out of the way, here's night three.

G1 Climax 31: Night 3

Kambi's match markets were taken down as the show was starting. Of the four available matches, only one was active in the days that it was available.

G1 Climax 31 - Night 3 Betting

Toru Yano .vs. Great-O-Khan
When the market for today's opener, Toru Yano .vs. Great-O-Khan, was first published three days ago, the bookies listed the latter as an 11/20 favourite. Later that day, the selection had dropped into 1/2 and was then down to 7/20 by yesterday morning.

With Great-O-Khan moving in over those couple of days, Toru Yano moved out from 13/10 to 19/10.

The betting turned out to be on the correct side because Great-O-Khan was the match winner.

KENTA .vs Yujiro Takahashi
The match between Bullet Club's KENTA and Yujiro Takahashi ended with the former winning as the 7/20 favourite.

The loser had entered as a 19/10 underdog.

Kota Ibushi .vs. Tomohiro Ishii
The Ibushi versus Ishii match resulted with a win for Kota Ibushi. Both selections were at 17/20 for this one.

Shingo Takagi .vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
Zack Sabre Jr. scored a submission win over Shingo Taakagi in the main event.

As you'll see above, ZSJ was a 7/4 underdog over Takagi's 2/5 throughout the period when people could bet on the result.

Following today's matches, Great-O-Khan sits atop A Block with six points.
