New Japan has just completed its fourth night of this year's G1 Climax tournament.
The show consisted of matches from the B Block which, before the outright winner betting market closed ahead of today's event, had Kazuchika Okada a 23/20 to be at the top of the table when the block reaches its conclusion on October 20th.
Hiroshi Tanahashi .vs. Hirooki Goto
The opening match of today's round was won by Hiroshi Tanahashi. He was Kambi's 1/3 favourite to win. His opponent - Hirooki Goto - was a 2/1 underdog.
Tama Tonga .vs. Chase Owens
Tama Tonga beat Chase Owens in their meeting.
Kambi's market opened with Tonga an 11.25 favourite on Monday. He remained at that price until sometime before 7:53AM BST this morning when I noticed they had slid into 7/20 while Owens' odds had risen from 8/5 to 19/10.
YOSHI-HASHI .vs. Jeff Cobb
Jeff Cobb defeated YOSHI-HASHI in their meeting. The eventual winner started out as Kambi's 1/3 favourite when betting commenced on Monday.
By this morning, a winning bet on Cobb had risen slightly to 2/5 after his opponent's price slid into 7/4 from 2/1.
SANADA .vs. Taichi
Taichi won an entertaining match against SANADA in the penultimate contest of the night. When Kambi began to take bets on the match, Taichi was an 11/10 underdog. However, his price was down to EVS by this morning.
SANADA, who opened at 13/20 closed a 7/20 fave.
Kazuchika Okada .vs. EVIL
Kazuchika Okada and EVIL entered today's main event level at 17/20 each. The market had opened at those prices, but there was no changes made to the prices of either wrestler for the four days people could bet on the match.
The contest was won by Kazuchika Okada awarding him another two points to his tally.
The tournament favourite now sits at the top of B Bock with Jeff Cobb and Taichi. All have four points.
B Block will return on Wednesday with the following matches:
Kazuchika Okada .vs. YOSHI-HASHI
Taichi .vs. EVIL
Jeff Cobb .vs. Hirooki Goto
SANADA .vs. Chase Owens
Hiroshi Tanahashi .vs. Tama Tonga
