The B Block's next round in this year's G1 Climax tournament has just started. Here are the odds and results from all of the bouts on the card.
YOSHI-HASHI (2 points) .vs. Tama Tonga (2 points)
The first tournament match of the night kicked off with YOSHI-HASHI beating Tama Tonga.
Both men entered at 17/20 each.
Hirooki Goto (2 points) .vs. Chase Owens (2 points)
Hirooki Goto scored his second win of the tournament by defeating Chase Owens in the second tournament match of the day.
When the market was first opened, Kambi had both men at 17/20. However - from there - Goto's odds began to decline and reached 2/5 yesterday morning.
SANADA (4 points) .vs. Jeff Cobb (10 points)
Jeff Cobb continued his undefeated run in the tournament with a win over SANADA.
This was a surprising result because I thought SANADA would get the two points. Looking at the betting, it's clear the bookmakers thought so as well.
Cobb opened as a 23/20 underdog to SANADA's 8/13.
A couple of hours after the market opened, I noticed that SANADA's price had dropped into 1/2 while Cobb was pushed up to 7/5.
The eventual winner had risen to 8/5 when I looked at the market yesterday morning and remained at that price right through to the market's close today.
SANADA - who is now officially out of contention to win this year's tournament - closed as the match's 11/25 favourite.
Hiroshi Tanahashi (6 points) .vs. EVIL (8 points)
EVIL was a 3/4 favourite to beat Hiroshi Tanahashi when the market for today's penultimate contest was published. However, the odds for his opponent shortened during the brief period people could gamble on its outcome.
Tanahashi was lowered from 19/20 into 9/10 sometime before 8:20AM BST yesterday while his opponent, despite remaining the fave, was pushed up slightly to 4/5.
EVIL picked up the two points with a decision over Tanahashi.
Kazuchika Okada (10 points) .vs. Taichi (4 points)
Kazuchika Okada continued his perfect start to the tournament with a win over Taichi in today's main evemt.
The winner had started out as an 8/13 a couple of day ago. By the following day, he had dropped into 13/25 while Taichi rose from 23/20 to 13/10.
Okada dropped into 4/9 sometime before yesterday morning and remained at that price - with Taichi at 6/4 - until betting was suspended at the start of today's event.
