G1 Climax 31 Betting: Night 11

Block A returns today in the eleventh night of G1 Climax 31 action and, as I've done throughout the tournament (so far!), I'll take a look over the betting odds for the matches that are set to take place during the show.

Before I get to today's card, I need to point out another prop bet which might have been settled during night ten.

On Monday, I pointed out that Hirooki Goto's win over YOSHI-HASHI meant that a B Block prop bet, which asked whether or not any of the wrestlers would go winless in their first five bouts of the tournament, would be settled with 'No' as the winning selection because - going into that match - Goto was the last remaining wrestler of the block who was winless.

Another prop which may have been settled with Goto's could have been found in Kambi's series of markets for the outright tournament.

It asked whether or not anyone would 'remain winless in all block matches'. Considering the market had been available right through to this past Sunday, I don't think it factored in Tetsuya Naito's withdrawal due to injury (his one match was a loss, all his remaining bouts were forfeited with his future opponents credited two points for a win). Therefore, it rested on Chase Owens and Hirooki Goto going into night ten. Both men won their respective matches meaning every single active wrestler in the tournament has won at least one contest.

If I am right, 'No' would have been declared the winning selection in that market when the results from night ten were being graded.

G1 Climax 31 - Prop Bet

Back to today's matches, their odds and results..

G1 Climax 31 - Night 11

Kota Ibushi (8 points) .vs. Tanga Loa (4 points)
The opening tournament match was won by Kota Ibushi. He had entered the contest as a 1/9 favourite.

When the market opened, a couple of days ago, the eventual winner was a 2/13 to Tanga Loa's 7/2. By the following evening, Ibushi had lowered into the aforementioned 1/9 while Loa rose to 17/4.

G1 Climax 31 - Night 11 Betting Odds

Zack Sabre Jr. (8 points) .vs. Yujiro Takahashi (4 points)
When it opened on Tuesday, the market for Zack Sabre Jr. versus Yujiro Takahashi had the former a 1/5 favourite over Takahashi's 3/1.

No changes were made to this market during its two-day lifetime.

ZSJ won via submission.

Toru Yano (6 points) .vs. Shingo Takagi (6 points)
The betting on the Toru Yano versus Shingo Takagi match went the way of Takagi. Starting as a 2/7 favourite, he fell into 11/50 a day later and was then at 1/5 when I checked in this morning.

As a result of Takagi's price descending, Yano was pushed out from 9/4 to 14/5 and then to 3/1.

Takagi got the win.

Tomohiro Ishii (6 points) .vs. Great-O-Khan (8 points)
The main event market opened with Tomohiro Ishii a 1/2 favourite over The Great-O-Khan. However, by this morning, the latter's odds had been lowered as they were reduced into 23/20 from 7/5.

Ishii still entered the contest as a favourite albeit at a slightly increased 8/13.

The match was won by the favourite moving his points tally to eight points.

Following today's round, Zack Sabre Jr. and Kota Ibushi are at the top of the block with ten points each. However, ZSJ has the tiebreaker over Ibushi.
