It's night ten of G1 Climax 31 today. This time featuring matches from B Block. Here are the betting results as they happen.
Hiroshi Tanahashi (6 points) .vs. Chase Owens (0 points)
Chase Owens picked up his first two points of the tournament with a win over Hiroshi Tanahashi in the opener.
Owens had entered the match as a 5/2 underdog to Tanahashi's 1/4.
EVIL (6 points) .vs. Tama Tonga (2 points)
EVIL was victorious against Tama Tonga in the second match of the night.
The eventual winner was a 7/20 favourite when the market opened a couple of days ago. The selection remained at that price right through to today's close.
Taichi (4 points) .vs. Jeff Cobb (8 points)
Jeff Cobb's undefeated streak in the tournament continued with a decision over Taichi.
As you'll see - in the table above - Cobb was backed from 8/13 into 1/2 to win today's contest. His opponent entered the match as a 7/5 underdog after starting out at 23/20 on Saturday.
Cobb's fifth win, out of five, means that a B Block prop bet will now be settled.
In the market, customers were asked whether anyone would have an 'Undefeated Start' by not suffering a loss in his first five bouts of the tourney.
'Yes' opened at 5/4 on September 13th, but was down to EVS a week later. It was then snipped into 9/10 on Saturday September 25th and remained at that price right up until its last appearance on the websites last Wednesday.
Cobb reaching ten points has knocked Hirooki Goto out of the running due to Cobb having the tiebreaker over Goto (Cobb won their night six meeting). This should make the next match interesting, not only for the tournament, but for me because I've bet on Goto to get his first two points by getting the W over YOSHI-HASHI.
Hirooki Goto (0 points) .vs. YOSHI-HASHI (2 points)
Goto did indeed win this match after all. He had started out atEVS when Kambi published the market for the match a couple of days ago. His price was down to 17/20 later that day. It was then at 4/6 when I checked in at 9:15AM BST today.
With Goto being the last person with a losing record ahead of this match, his victory means that another prop market for B Block.
The prop asked whether or not at least one of the wrestlers in B Block would lose their first five matches of the tournament.
Going into today, Chase Owens and Hirroki Goto were the two wrestlers on zero points. With both picking up wins in their respective fifth matches, the 'No' will be graded as the winning selection.
Kazuchika Okada (8 points) .vs. SANADA (4 points)
Kazuchika Okada won the main event over SANADA.
The market opened, and closed, with Okada a 19/20 underdog while the losing selection was 3/4.
The top of B Block remains the same albeit with Okada and Cobb both with ten points as their respective undefeated streaks continue along the track towards their meeting on B Block's finale in a little over a fortnight.
