G1 Climax 31 Betting: Night 15

It's the fifteenth night of the G1. As noted, in yesterday's post, betting markets for the four A Block contests were published a couple of days ago. Therefore - in this post - I'll take a look over the early and closing markets as the results unfold over the next few hours.

G1 Climax 31: Night 15

Tomohiro Ishii (8 points) .vs. Yujiro Takahashi (4 points)
Betting favourite - Tomohiro Ishii - beat Yujiro Takahashi in the first match of the night. He was 1/4 over Takahashi's 5/2.

KENTA (10 points) .vs. Tanga Loa (4 points)
KENTA won against Tanga Loa in their meeting. The victor entered as a 1/8 favourite over Loa's 4/1.

The decision now places KENTA at the top of the block alongside his Night 17 opponent - Kota Ibushi, who already gained two points from what would have been tonight's meeting with Tetsuya Naito.

G1 Climax 31: Night 15 Betting Odds

Toru Yano (8 points) .vs. Zack Sabre Jr. (10 points)
Zack Sabre Jr. has also reached twelve points following a submission win over Toru Yano.

Sabre was installed as a 1/4 favourite when the market was published a couple of days ago. However, following Yano's odds moving in from 5/2 into 19/10 (I was one of the Yano punters), ZSJ was pushed to 7/20.

Now, it's onto the main event. I initially thought this would be a tie, but not as confident in that result now.

Shingo Takagi (10 points) .vs. Great-O-Khan (8 points)
Well, it went close to a time limit draw, but Shingo Takagi ended up getting the win and an additional two points to be the fourth wrestler to head into the final night of A Block on twelve points.

Going by the betting, Takagi started at 2/13 but was moved up to 1/5 when Great-O-Khan's odds were reduced from 7/2 into 3/1 yesterday morning.
