G1 Climax 33: Night 8 Betting Notes

Only one of BetOnline's betting markets for today's matches in the NJPW G1 Climax have changed since I wrote about them last night.

The market in question is the headline contest which will see Zack Sabre Jr. and Jeff Cobb battle it out to control D Block.

When I came across the market yesterday, both men were at -120 pick 'ems. However, since then, wagering has moved Jeff Cobb into -150 favourite.

As a result, ZSJ is now up to +110.

I am also keen to see the result of the semi-main event match today because I feel that BetOnline has the wrong favourite in David Finlay against Tama Tonga.

As it stands, Finlay is leading C Block with three wins out of three. Below him - on four points (2-1 win-loss) each - are EVIL, Eddie Kingston and Tonga.

EVIL holds a win over Tonga and Finlay holds one over EVIL. Therefore, I believe they have to give Tonga the win today to keep things ticking in the block.

Tonga is +110 to Finlay's -150.

The other wrestler on 2-1, Eddie Kingston, is scheduled to meet the winless Tomohiro Ishii. BetOnline has Kingston favoured at -200, but I feel that this could be the spot where the Stone Pitbull picks up his first tournament points. This time as a +150 dog.

With that said, I'm not as confident in Ishii being booked to win as I am in Tama Tonga.

Here are all of the current prices for today's matches.

Henare +200
EVIL -300

Hirooki Goto -200
Alex Coughlin +150

Shingo Takagi -1,000
Mikey Nicholls +500

Hiroshi Tanahashi -1,000
Toru Yano +500

Tomohiro Ishii +150
Eddie Kingston -200

Tetsuya Naito -1,000
Shane Haste +500

Tama Tonga +110
David Finlay -150

Zack Sabre Jr. +110
Jeff Cobb -150
