Within the post, I indicated that I was surprised by this announcement as I had been anticipating Kevin Owens versus Chris Jericho to be in the midst of a feud by the close of the year. The announcement evidently points to the friendship of Owens and Jericho lasting into 2017. This led me to suggest the possibility of either Jericho .vs. Owens as a match at the Royal Rumble or for the latter to win the battle royal and win himself a title shot against Owens at WrestleMania.
What I forgot to mention, until Jordan Kaye sort of suggested in the comments section of the aforementioned post, is that Jericho could accidentally cost his friend the match at Roadblock. Therefore, another WWE betting opportunity showed itself.
If Roman Reigns is Universal Champion at the end of December, there's a slight chance he'll take the strap all the way to WrestleMania 33 and beyond. This could make the 10/3 on him leaving WresteMania 33 as Universal Champion somewhat attractive to punters looking for a WrestleMania wager.

As you can see, Reigns is currently fifth on this list behind Owens, Any other superstar that isn't on the list, Seth Rollins and the person who I still think is in with a shot - Finn Balor.
If he wins the title at Roadblock, there's no doubt in my mind that Roman Reigns will become an instant favourite in this market.
For what it's worth, despite having a small punt myself - I don't think this bet will be a winner. I just thought I'd point it out to those of you who have a feeling Reigns will get a run with the Universal strap by year's end and for him to take it right through to the close of Mania 33.

mm I don't know... I think the main reason WWE has made Reigns the US champ is to help build him up more with the WWE Universe, to accept him more as a face etc , so to make him US and Universal champion so soon, I could just see a lot of criticism for it.
ReplyDeleteBut, it is the WWE, so nothings off the table
