Next WWE Champion Odds Fall For Mahal, Rusev And Cena

In a post published in late-April, I noted that Jinder Mahal's odds to be the next WWE World Champion had been cut from 5/1 to 7/2 after he become number on contender to Randy Orton's crown. The market was republished earlier today with the price now having been slashed to 6/4.

Jinder Mahal isn't the only selection to have had a reduction worth noting. Rusev has been lowered from 15/1 into 3/1.

And there's a good reason why.

On this coming week's episode of Smackdown, the Bulgarian Brute will return to WWE following his latest injury setback. It is expected that he will demand a title shot for the Money in the Bank PPV.

If the opportunity that Rusev is given is for the WWE Championship, then that would position Rusev into the running as a potential 'favourite' - from a betting perspective - to overcome Randy Orton for the strap. Hence his price being lowered from double figures.

Another name whose odds have moved in is John Cena. The previous number I have is 10/1, but he is now at 9s.

As a result, the selections that have drifted are:

- Baron Corbin from EVENS to 6/4
- AJ Styles from 2/1 to 7/2
- Kevin Owens from 2/1 to 7/2
- Sami Zayn from 5/1 to 9/1

How the odds differ from the last time the market was republished
