WWE Champion After Jinder Mahal Betting Update For July 30th

It has been fifteen days since I last published this post about the markets where Kambi customers can have a bet on where, and who against, Jinder Mahal drops the WWE Championship.

In this morning's post, I'll show you the current odds for both markets and point out how they've been adjusted since July 15th.

Starting with the date of the defeat market. Today's odds are as follows:

Every one of the selections have been changed since the previous look through the market.

For starters, the option to bet on 'Before SummerSlam' has been extended from 6/4 into 7/2. A good reason this has happened is the company is now all-in on promoting SummerSlam and this Tuesday's Smackdown main event will determine who, out of Shinsuke Nakamura and John Cena, will challenge Mahal for the title on August 20th.
'Before SummerSlam' isn't the only selection that has drifted. The final three options have also increased.

  • Between Royal Rumble, But Before WrestleMania 34 went from 6/1 to 13/2
  • During WrestleMania 34 has doubled from 5/1
  • On First Day After Mania Or After has jumped out to 15s from 10/1
The odds for Mahal to lose the strap 'During SummerSlam' have moved in to 1/5 from 2/5. The two other options after this period have also been covered as the selection that covers the night after SummerSlam but up to the Survivor Series has shortened to 23/20 from 2/1 while the Survivor Series to just before the Royal Rumble option has been snipped from 6/1 into 4/1.

Going by where the odds are moving in, it looks like the traders - and punters - are expecting the title to change anywhere between SummerSlam and late January. Yes, this covers a lot of ground.

The question now is who will be the person that will unseat The Modern Day Maharaja?

John Cena has moved in to 2/5 from even money, so I guess this means that most of the Kambi customers are expecting Cena to overcome Shinsuke Nakamura on next week's edition of Smackdown to book a title shot against Mahal at SummerSlam.

Nakamura is also one of the names to have been sliced since I last checked in. He went from 13/2 into 6/4 joint-second favourite alongside what I believe to be a wild card in Baron Corbin.

Corbin has been cut from 2/1 into 6/4.

The selections that have drifted out are:

AJ Styles from EVS to 15/2 - This move makes sense as Styles is once again US Champion, so he'll be busy defending that title for the time being. Not that it hasn't stopped other US titleholders challenging for the WWE Title, though.

Randy Orton from 9/4 to 10/1 - Orton's price was short because he was in the midst of a feud with Mahal. He has now evidently moved out of the title picture for the time being, so his price increasing is justified.

Rusev from 10/1 to 15/1 - I'm unsure what's next for Rusev, but it's unlikely to involve the WWE Championship while a fellow heel is in possession of it.

The remaining selections have stayed where they were fifteen days ago.
