New Observer Props For The G1

The oddsmakers from Kambi have published a trio of Wrestling Observer star ratings prop bets for the G1 Climax 29 final.

The first allows customers to bet on the final match of the tournament getting five stars or more from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's editor, Dave Meltzer.

Clients who believe that the match will get the required amount of stars (or more!) will currently find the 'Yes' at 3/4 while the 'No' is being offered at 19/20.

As we won't know what the last match of the tournament will be until a day before, it's a gamble based on guesswork.

What we don't have to guess is who will compete in the NXT Championship match at NXT TakeOver: Toronto 2019 which will take place a couple of days before the G1 Climax 29 final. The match will see Adam Cole defend his title against former champ, Johnny Gargano, in a best-out-of-three falls match which will contain stipulations in each fall.

The reason why I have brought this match up while discussing the new Observer G1 props is because the second market that is available gives punters the opportunity to wager on the final match in this year's G1 Climax getting more stars than the NXT Championship bout at TakeOver.

It's worded like this: 'G1 Final to be awarded a higher star rating than Cole-Gargano (Same rating will settle as NO)'. Therefore, unlike the head-to-heads that offer a 'Same Rating' option, the G1 Final has to beat Cole/Gargano when the Observer with reviews of both nights is published in the days following both shows.

'Yes' is a 4/5 favourite over the 'No' at 9/10.

Prop number three puts the G1 Final up against Brock Lesnar .vs. Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2019, but it comes with a twist.

The punter has to bet whether or not the G1 Final beats the Lesnar/Rollins match by one-and-a-half stars or more.

They've placed 'No' as a 7/10 favourite while the 'Yes' is EVS.

For what it's worth, the last time Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar competed against each other in anything but last week's Money in the Bank cash-in, the pair received three-and-a-half stars in Dave Meltzer's review of WrestleMania 35.

And - to add to the G1 aspect of the bet - both of the last two years of G1 Finals have received five-and-three-quarter stars from Meltzer.

These specials are found along with tournament/block winner specials and tournament match markets on the websites with Kambi's odds.
