Randy Orton .Vs Daniel Bryan Night Of Championship Betting Revisited

Earlier this week, I took a look at how betting at 5Dimes.com moved the odds in the Night of Champions elimination tag team match between CM Punk, Curtis Axel and Paul Heyman. Today, I'm going to analyse the action that took place in betting on the main event.

I make regular checks at 5Dimes.com and first noticed the match was available on September 4th. The graph below shows how the odds changed up to the evening before the show.

Odds in European format
As you can see, Daniel Bryan was an underdog when the market opened and remained that way all the way through to the Saturday before Night of Champions.

There was an interesting dip on the Friday before the weekend.
Orton and Bryan were both marked up at -120 (1.85 EU, 83/100 UK). The match didn't stay at a pick 'em for long as - by Saturday morning - their odds started to drift further and further away from one another.
A look at Sunday's betting shows when Daniel Bryan become the favourite.

From 1am EST all the way to around 5pm EST, Orton and Bryan stayed on the course they had been on through most of the betting (Orton the favourite, Bryan an underdog).

Somewhere between 5pm and 6pm, information on who was going to end up the winner must have gotten out as the odds made a significant change at that point resulting in both wrestlers changing their position in betting.

The result saw Randy Orton drifting out further as the night progressed. As we now know, he did lose the match so the early bettors would have made a significant profit on a Danuel Bryan win.

I will return once the odds are posted for WWE Battleground.

In the meantime, bettors in Europe can find out how to deposit into their 5Dimes account by reading this post.
