Cesaro, who scored a win over his rival to keep the series alive at 1-3 in London yesterday, is a 7/5 outsider while Sheamus - who only needs one more victory - is 1/2.
There may be a good reason, or reasons, as to why the oddsmakers have put Sheamus out as the favourite.
Firstly, there have been unconfirmed reports that Cesaro's contract is nearing its conclusion. If this is the case, then the obvious result to end this series is to have the contracted wrestler - Sheamus - win.
The second may have been right in front of us as far back as SummerSlam Sunday.
On the weekend of SummerSlam, the oddsmakers at 5Dimes.com were accepting bets on the winner of match one as well as the overall series winner. At the time when apparent smart money had landed on the SummerSlam bouts, the price for Sheamus being the outright winner had shortened to -1700 with Cesaro out at +800. Interestingly, the odds for the victor of match one were identical.
It'll be something to watch as we head closer to Clash of Champions, which takes place on September 25th.
With there now being two episodes of Raw before CoC, it's looking like the series will be 3-3 with the decider taking place on the PPV. The odds for there being 'Exactly 7' bouts is a short 2/5 while the '6 or less' is 7/4.
I'm confident that it'll go to match number seven regardless of who ends up winning.
Customers of the bookmakers that appear on this list can find the market listed alongside other WWE betting odds.
Made the rounds and bet on this going to the 7th - odds slashed from 1,30 to 1,13. Made a new round just now - they took it off the board completely.
ReplyDeleteTotal Sportek did an interesting article on WWE salaries back in February. Apparenly Cesaro has one year left and is paid the same as Darren Young. I'd be fuming if I was him.
I read that article and I think a lot of it was way off.
DeleteFor example, it contains names of wrestlers that have left the company.
Also has Goldust earning more than Roman Reigns. That right there should indicate that the information is way off.
The article also list Nikki Bella as the highest female earner (Charlotte not mentioned), with first class travel expenses covered.
ReplyDeleteIt's also interesting that after Nikki's return, they've changed the SD intro video. Before it closed out with Ambrose, Usos, Styles and Cena. Now it's Ambrose, Nikki, Styles and Cena.
These two factors leads me to believe that they see Nikki as a big deal for the SD brand and that she's winning the title this Sunday.
