Ladbrokes Halves John Cena's Rumble Odds

The Ladbrokes Sportsbook has halved John Cena's odds to win the 2017 WWE Royal Rumble from 20/1 to 10s. This adjustment was made yesterday evening.

The move coincides with WWE appearing to begin a storyline where Cena will embark on a chase to claim his sixteenth world title. The hints of this were made on the most recent episode of Smackdown.

In a post published on Thursday afternoon, I noted that John Cena is about to film a second season of American Grit - a reality show he hosted last year. In 2015, he was away from WWE recording the episodes from late October. He returned to WWE shortly before the year closed, but was off injured for WrestleMania season.

If he works a similar schedule this time, albeit without an injury, then the timing would fit for him to return in time for the Royal Rumble. From there, he could earn the title shot to challenge for the strap at WrestleMania 33 by winning the battle royal.

Wrestling fans who are also speculating this is how things will play out next year have also punted on Cena to win at a handful of other sportsbooks where he had been backed from 10/1 into 6/1.

Interestingly, the sportsbooks have moved Cena's odds to be in the final four out from 5/4 to 6/4. This might appeal to the fans who think Cena will come up short at the Rumble. If the story is for him to be in the title match at Mania, but a member of the Raw roster is victorious in the Rumble, Cena should still finish strong.

To close - if you're looking for a straight-up win for Cena, Ladbrokes' 10/1 is the better number available. If you think he'll be in the final four - then you can find him 6/4 at these bookmaking websites.

  1. WWE youtube channel uploud video "5 superstars who shoud face Cena". And Taker was final one. There was also said that they shoud fight at Mania

For example before Rollins-Reings-Ambrose there was a lot of videos about Shield (win at mania, first appearence, Rollins go out).. it was before Money in the Bank.

So i think they planned no-title for Cena vs Taker

    1. Worth mentioning, WWE also put up a 'Could these superstars be in the Royal Rumble?' video for the 2016 Rumble and nothing came of it.

The names that they focused in this clip were: Undertaker, Sting, Seth Rollins, Steve Austin, Goldberg and Daniel Bryan.

People bought into Daniel Bryan appearing on this list
