Corbin Backed To Win World Or Universal Championship Before End Of Mania 34

Bettors who wager on professional wrestling have evidently backed Baron Corbin to win either the WWE World or Universal Championship before the end of WrestleMania 34.

As noted in a post published ten days ago, there's a market available where punters can have a punt on certain names winning either the World or Universal Championship from the point the bet is struck right up to the end of next year's WrestleMania.

Corbin, who is a favourite to win the 2017 Money in the Bank ladder match, has been backed from 17/20 into 7/10 to become one of the major champions.

I can fully understand why the Lone Wolf has had interest from the gamblers.

Firstly, as I've already pointed out, he has a very good chance of being this year's Mr. Money in the Bank. Having the briefcase will immediately put him in the title picture even if he isn't immediately challenging for the strap.

Most importantly - WWE has been protecting him.

Whenever he has lost, he has always done so where he gets his heat back instantly. That's enough of a sign that the decision makers have high hopes for him and there could be big plans for him down the road.

The only thing that could work against a bet on Corbin is if he is the Money in the Bank winner and has a long stint carrying the contract.

If he doesn't cash in, and win either strap, by April 9th - bets on him will end up being graded as losers.

Working in Corbin's favour, however, is the fact that Smackdown is short on strong heels to work against Randy Orton. The Jinder Mahal scenario is a good example of the lack of depth in this area, so I strongly believe - with or without the MITB contract - that Corbin will be up there within the next year.

When available, the market can be found under 'Road to WrestleMania 34 - WWE Universal Championship and WWE World Championship' on the websites that use Kambi odds.

  1. For what it's worth, the UK tour next month, Corbin replaced Wyatt in the triple threat main event for the wwe title. Seems they want him in the picture for sure
