Paddy Power Has A JBL Special

There's a new WWE special on Paddy Power's WWE Betting Page.

It concerns the recent bullying scandal involving John Bradshaw Layfield and whether he'll still be employed by WWE on July 1st 2017.

As of right now, the market is showing this pricing:

'Yes' is 4/6 and the 'No' is 11/10.

The market has been priced up because there has been a lot of coverage of JBL's apparent behaviour to current and former members of WWE staff.

Justin Roberts has just released an autobiography covering his time working as a WWE ring announcer. I have yet to read the book (it doesn't come out over here until May) but - from what I gather - JBL was one of the people who gave Roberts a hard time while he was employed by WWE.

The other current talking point is how JBL treated former Smackdown play-by-play commentator, Mauro Ranallo.

The coverage has been building, but it's hard to determine whether it'll intesify to the point where WWE will have to act. If it does, WWE might have no choice but to fire JBL in order to make it look like the company is working to drive out the bullying and hazing that has been documented for many, many years.

Another route that could be taken is a suspension or to send JBL on a course for the PR spin. If this happens, he would obviously still be employed by the company on July 1st.

  1. Gah. I can see it going either way. Maybe leaning on 'yes' but if it keeps getting louder and louder...
