The Great Balls Of Fire Time Prop Post

Earlier today, the Kambi oddsmakers released their match duration over/under specials for this weekend's WWE Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view. A couple of WWELeaks.org visitors like reading my thoughts on these markets, so I've had a look through them and have pointed out a few selections that I like.

Before I begin, I must stress how these bets work. The oddsmakers set a time for each match. The customer can then bet whether or not the match lasts longer or shorter than the lines that the bookie sets. The match length begins from the bell to start the match and ends with the next bell. In nearly every case, the following bell is one that is rung to signal the conclusion of the match. Sometimes, there are introductions done before title matches. The bells is sounded before each wrestler is announced. The timer does not start at the intro. It begins with the bell to kick off the actual match.

Brock Lesnar .vs. Samoa Joe
I'll start off writing about the main event because this market has been available to customers since June 18th. The lines on offer are '12 minutes or more' at EVENS or '11:59 or less' favoured at 18/25. The prices haven't moved since the market was first installed.
In my opinion, this is very hard to call. On one hand, it's obvious that the company will have to keep Samoa Joe strong so a quick loss shouldn't be considered. However, there could be pre-match activity before the match that could eat up some time. I am not compelled to bet on either option, I'm afraid.

Enzo Amore .vs. Big Cass
This market started with '6:00 or more' and '5:59 or less'. Both selections were put up at 17/20. The punters appear to have backed this to go under as this option has lowered to 4/5 while '6:00 or more' has been raised to 9/10.
One of the things that I expect to repeat throughout this post is the fact that there is a thirty-minute iron man match on the card. Therefore, expect a lot of bouts to be kept short. I can't help but feel that the line has been priced up too short, though. I won't be betting on it, but would not be surprised to see the match last longer than six minutes.

Alexa Bliss .vs. Sasha Banks
The oddsmakers have set the lines at '11:30 or more' at 9/10 and '11:29 or less' at 4/5. I think they have the right favourite. I think this will go under. At WWE Payback, the Raw Women's Championship match went 11:15 and then - at Extreme Rules - it lasted a little over five minutes. Once again, this is a card with a thirty-man iron man match and two big bouts in the ambulance match and the main event. I don't think it will be allotted enough time to go over eleven and a half minutes so will be backing the under.

Seth Rollins .vs. Bray Wyatt
The line has been set at fourteen minutes with the 'Over' at 17/20 and '13:59 or less' also at 17/20. I don't have a dog in this fight. I can see it going either way.

The Miz .vs. Dean Ambrose
The oddsmakers have put twelve minutes to this one. The 'Over' is 4/5 and the '11:59 or less' is 9/10. Just like with the Raw Women's Championship match, I can't help but feel that this will be one of the casualties when the match times are being set up, so will be backing the under once I have published this post.

Roman Reigns .vs. Braun Strowman
This one has been set up with '18:00 or over' an 18/25 favourite while '17:59 or less' is even money. Before the market was put up, I had a time in my head as I was planning to blindly back it. This number was sixteen minutes, so the line is two minutes more and is therefore calling for me to go under.
I looked back at previous ambulance matches that I could recall from memory. One is the Kane versus Shane McMahon match from the Survivor Series in 2003. This went 13:34. Another one is Kane versus John Cena from Elimination Chamber 2012 that went 21:21.
The reason Kane versus Cena was long is because this was the main event of that PPV whereas the Shane McMahon versus Kane meeting was on the undercard.
This weekend's ambulance match is on a card that features a main event that could be given a lot of time as well as the thirty-plus minutes iron man match. Add in that I handicapped this one to go sixteen minutes and I have no choice but to back my instinct and take the under.

Selections That I Have Backed
- Alexa Bliss vs Sasha Banks to go 11:29 or less 4/5
- The Miz vs Dean Ambrose to go 11:59 or less 9/10
- Roman Reigns vs Braun Strowman 17:59 or less EVS

These markets can be found under 'Great Balls of Fire' on the sportsbook menus of the websites that offer Kambi pricing. A couple of examples can be found below:

  1. Agree with all but not sure about IC match. Have a weird feeling it will go over but not by much.
