Vince McMahon Is 66/1 To Buy Newcastle United FC

The Paddy Power Sportsbook is taking bets on Vince McMahon becoming the next owner of Newcastle United Football Club.

The WWE boss has been inserted at 66/1 in a 'Next Majority Owner' market following current owner - Mike Ashley - announcing his intention to sell the club last night.

McMahon appears alongside selections like New England Patriots owner, Robert Kraft (11/1), Donald Trump (60/1) and Paddy Power himself (14/1).

There is a reason why Vince McMahon's name has been added to the market.

A number of years ago, a rumour circulated with the story that Vince was looking to purchase the club. However, it was a case of Chinese whispers (literally) because the actual person looking for the sale was Vince's son, Shane McMahon, along with a consortium of Chinese investors.

The potential deal had nothing to do with Vince McMahon or WWE.
