Randy Orton's odds to succeed AJ Styles as WWE Champion have continued a steady decline in a betting market that's available from the websites that publish prices from Kambi.
As of the time of writing, 'The Viper' is a joint-second favourite with a price of 2/1. He had fallen from 10/1 into 8/1 last week, but was as high as 50/1 in late-May despite opening at 15/1 in November.

As I've noted in a post shortly after AJ Styles did a press conference for the upcoming WWE 2K19 video game, when asked about people he would like to wrestle in the future, Randy Orton's name did come up.
Out of curiosity, I've taken a look at the 'WWE Champion After SummerSlam' market to see if Orton's price has fallen there, but it hasn't recently. It has stalled at 10/1 after dropping from 33/1 in the last week of June. This move coincided with the 2K19 announcement.
Samoa Joe and Styles himself are joint-favourites to leave Brooklyn with the strap. This is the match I am anticipating, but seeing Orton's odds shortening in the 'Champion After Styles' market has me wondering whether his return will come in time for August 19th.

There have been reports of Randy Orton coming back before Summerslam. But do you think it makes sense to give Orton a WWE title run at this age ?
ReplyDeleteDid you mean at this age or at this stage?
DeleteIf it's age, it doesn't matter.
If it's stage, then the answer is 'No' because I'd much rather it go to Joe! That's the match I want at SummerSlam.
Yeah, Joe vs AJ makes more sense since it's a perfect heel vs baby-face feud. I don't think people really want to see Orton as WWE champion again
