Brock Lesnar Prematurely Placed As MITB Second-Favourite Following June 17 Smackdown Plus More

Brock Lesnar's odds to win this year's Money in the Bank were cut into second-favouritism following his surprise return at the conclusion of last night's WWE Smackdown. However, the adjustment appears to have been premature due to how the return storyline has progressed overnight.

Following his win against Riddle - in the main event of last night's show - WWE Undisputed Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, was confronted by his nemesis. The angle concluded with Lesnar giving his WrestleMania 38 opponent an F5.

As a result of Lesnar's return, his odds to win the July 2nd ladder match were cut from 20/1 into 5/2 on the Paddy Power website.

The reason why it seems like an irrelevant cut is because the closing angle seemed more to do with setting up Reigns' next opponent. That turned out to be the case because WWE has now announced that Reigns and Lesnar will compete once again.

This time, they'll meet in a last man standing match at SummerSlam on July 30th.

Also on last night's episode of Smackdown, Adam Pearce revealed that Drew McIntyre and Sheamus would both be added to the July 2nd ladder match for the men's Money in the Bank briefcase.

McIntyre, who was a 5/1 second-favourite to win the ladder match yesterday, has risen to 6/1 following Lesnar's decrease. As for Sheamus - his price has fallen from 25/1 into 20s.

Seth Rollins remains a 1/2 favourite. Considering that Reigns .vs. Lesnar is the main event of SummerSlam, I now have a vision of Seth Rollins doing something similar to what he did at WrestleMania 31 and cash in a Money in the Bank contract on those two.

Racquel Rodriquez won a qualifier to enter the women's Money in the Bank ladder match on last night's show. Her price is now 5/1, which is down from yesterday's 9/1.

Aaliyah (25/1) and Shotzi (16/1) will compete next week to decide who else will join Lacey Evans (5/1), Alexa Bliss (2/1 second-favourite), Liv Morgan (4/1). By then, we'll also know who'll be added out of the Becky Lynch versus Asuka qualifier which will air during Monday's WWE Raw.

As of the time of writing, Asuka is 10/1 and Lynch is the 5/4 favourite to leave Las Vegas having won the ladder match.
