More About MITB Betting

There is a note in this week's issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter which has strengthened one of the things I wrote about on Monday about Riddle's chances of becoming this year's Mr. Money in the Bank.

Dave Meltzer, when covering the possible reason why Roman Reigns versus Riddle has been moved from the Money in the Bank PPV/PLE to tonight's episode of WWE Smackdown, wrote that the decision to bring the match forward 'should make sense' by the end of tonight's episode.

As I wrote at the start of the week, I am starting to buy into the possibility of Riddle winning the briefcase.

There is a stipulation for tonight which states that Riddle cannot challenge Reigns for the title ever again if he were to lose.

One way to get around that stip is for Riddle to win the ladder match in a little over two weeks.

With Roman Reigns' reported opponent for SummerSlam - Randy Orton - now potentially out for the remainder of 2022, having Riddle lose in a certain way tonight and then win the briefcase on July 2nd could set up a Plan B with Riddle replacing Orton on the SummerSlam card.

When I last wrote about Riddle, and the Money in the Bank betting markets, Paddy Power had him as a 6/1 second-favourite. Following Monday's Raw, which was used to set up the stipulation for tonight, the oddsmakers pushed Riddle's odds for the briefcase win to 14/1.

In contrast - Kambi lists Riddle as a 4/1 joint-second favourite after a slight increase from 7/2.

With Riddle moving out with Paddy Power, the traders have cut the odds for the wrestler I have had at the top of my potential winner rankings since early this year.

Drew McIntyre, who was 16/1 on Monday, is now 5/1 with Paddy Power. To once again compare - McIntyre is alongside Riddle, at 4s, on the websites with Kambi's markets.

On this week's episode of The Bump, McIntyre brought up his intent to win the Money in the Bank briefcase and then use it to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship at Clash at the Castle in September. That was something I considered a possibility before WWE confirmed that there would be a show in the UK in September.

So, as of right now, I will be comfortable with McIntyre or Riddle winning. I still cannot rule out Seth Rollins, but there is no value for me now due to him being the favourite.
