Here are the results from today's card of the G1:
- David Finlay beat HENARE in the opener. The winner was a -300 favourite over HENARE's -300. The victory places Finlay back to the top of C Block with eight points. For now.
- The Toru Yano spoil I predicted a couple of posts ago occurred in the second match when he beat D Block leader - Jeff Cobb. As noted yesterday, Yano opened as a +500 underdog, but was bet down to +300 within an hour or so. Cobb had opened at -1,000 but was moved up to -500 following the bet, or bets, on Yano. This was the first loss for Cobb in this year's tourney and was the first win for Yano
- -400 favourite, Eddie Kingston, beat Mikey Nicholls (+250) to get his third win from five
- Tetsuya Naito was a winning -1,000 favourite over Alex Coughlin (+500). This moves Naito to six points from a possible ten. Coughlin remains with just one win
- EVIL was a -200 favourite winner over Tomohiro Ishii (+150). This moves EVIL back up to the joint-top of the block albeit below Finlay, who holds the tiebreaker
- Zack Sabre Jr. returned to the top part of D Block with a win over Shane Haste. However, just like with Finlay and EVIL in C Block, tiebreakers come into it and Jeff Cobb is above ZSJ. As for this match, ZSJ was a -2,000 fave. Haste was +700
- The match between Shingo Takagi and Tama Tonga ended in a draw. This leaves Takagi on five points and Tonga with seven. Going in, both men were at -120 pick 'em
- Hiroshi Tanahashi won against Hirooki Goto in the main event. The result moves Tanahashi to six points in D Block. Goto stays at four. The winner was a -250 fave. I thought Goto at +170 was the play here
