Jinder Mahal Is Your 'Champion After Randy Orton'

Jinder Mahal's WWE Championship victory over Randy Orton in the main event of last night's Backlash 2017 pay-per-view settled a WWE specials market that was installed in April.

The Kambi oddsmakers had priced up odds where customers could wager on the wrestler that would eventually defeat Randy Orton to become the next WWE Champion.

When it first went live on April 19th, the eventual winner was 5/1. As the then number one contender's push began to pick up steam, Mahal was moved to 7/2 before ending up at 6/4 by May 12th.


Baron Corbin was a favourite throughout. He shared the role with Mahal in the latter stages of betting.

It'll be interesting to see if a 'Champion After Jinder Mahal' market replaces this one now that we have a result. I'm intrigued to see who the oddsmakers place at the top of the list.
